HEZBOLLAH STOKE BORDER-TENSIONS WITH ISRAEL

Along parts of the Lebanese-Israeli border, Israel is putting up a wall to make it more difficult for any future Hezbollah-attacks. After the Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon in 2000, the UN confirmed that Israel did withdraw from the whole of Lebanon. But that hasn’t stopped Hezbollah to keep pressuring the Lebanese government to keep complaining about Israeli transgressions (Source).
Comment: These tensions are more acute now than earlier due to both Israeli and Lebanese designs on Gas-fields outside their coasts. Since these fields often overlap beneath sea-level, conflicts are due to continue. US mediation through David Satterfield, the U.S. assistant secretary of state for near eastern affairs, hasn’t made any headway so far and Hezbollah’s insistence that Israel stop building the wall and threats to attack Israeli Gas-fields operating already, isn’t helping.
